Are you a UK student with experience in social media marketing looking to build your portfolio?

Urban Forest Initiative is hiring a part-time Social Media Intern to help maintain and grow our online presence. Here are the details:

🕐 4–8 hrs/week (3–5 hrs/week through end of summer)
💵 $15/hr
🗓️ Flexible schedule (must attend weekly 1-hour UFI team meeting)

You’ll build real experience in social media marketing while making a real difference in your community.

🌳 Tree Week 2026 planning is in full swing!

Join UFI for our second planning meeting next Wednesday, June 17, 10–11am (ET) on Zoom.

We’d love to have you at the table, whether you’re a seasoned Tree Week organizer or just starting to explore what hosting an event could look like in your community.

During this meeting, we will:
🌱 Share updates from our May kickoff conversation
🌱 Cover how to register your events, which will add your event to our statewide Tree Week map!
🌱 Continue brainstorming event ideas for October

We’ll even hear from some past event hosts about different kinds of events you might consider, including implementing a Tree Trail in your community.

And just like that, CANOPY CON 26 is in the books! We couldn’t be more grateful for the day we had together learning on our theme “Healthy Trees –Healthy People,” and how tree health and human health are not only intertwined, but vital to community well-being.
