Recently, we learned from one of our partners, Shields Manufacturing, about a moment that truly highlights why CPR training matters.

One of their employees suddenly went into cardiac arrest at work. In a situation where every second counts, four coworkers didn’t hesitate—they jumped into action, started CPR, and worked together to save his life.

Because of them, a coworker, a friend, a family member is still here today.

We had the honor of visiting their team in Tualatin to recognize these individuals with the Santiam CPR Lifesaver Award, a small way to acknowledge the incredible difference they made (one not pictured).

This is exactly why we do what we do. Training isn’t just a requirement—it’s the ability to step up in the worst moments and change the outcome.

At Santiam CPR, our mission has always been about more than just certification—it’s about building a safer, stronger community. Through our new Giving Back program, we’re expanding that commitment by providing opportunities to bring life-saving education directly to those who need it most.

This program focuses on making CPR training more accessible by offering free hands-only CPR training for schools, community groups, and local organizations—because in an emergency, knowledge and confidence can make all the difference.

We believe everyone should have the chance to learn how to save a life, regardless of background or resources. By investing in our community, we’re helping create more prepared bystanders, stronger neighborhoods, and better outcomes when it matters most.
