Geneva Valentin, owner and director, has over 20 years of experience of working with children. In a safe, caring and respectful environment, we provide a warm and happy place to give children the opportunity to learn and develop. Such environment should be the foundation of all early childhood education programs, however, it is an educator's duty to go above and beyond safety, love and respect. As
educators we should strive to create an environment that is enriching and fulfilling as well as supportive of all opportunities that encompass learning and growing. At My Creative Learning Center, our Philosophy is based on building bridges between the child’s home environment and school setting. Our hope is to involve parents and guardians in their children’s daily routines and provide them with opportunities to participate in hands on workshops provided by the center. In addition to focusing on family engagement, as educators we acknowledge the importance of understanding the way children learn taking into account that each child learns differently. Preschool age children are learning many cognitive skills to prepare for kindergarten. The best environment for preschoolers consists of a combination of cognitive lessons and much developmentally appropriate play. At this age, play should be the majority of a child's day because it can be very enriching for the child’s growth. At My Creative Learning Center, our creative curriculum will aim at providing the space and activities for preschool age children to develop in preparation for kindergarten. Our after school and school vacation students will also be provided the opportunity to continue their learning from the classroom to our center as we assist with homework and encourage literacy through our library resources. A quality center never sits back with ease and accepts that there is no more room for improvement. No matter how good the program is or how well trained the teachers are there is always more that can be done!
