We gather to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer.

It is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and respect. The freedoms we enjoy every day did not come without sacrifice. Thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines courageously defended our nation, knowing the risks they faced. Many never returned home.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom. Memorial Day also reminds us to support the families of those who served and to appreciate the veterans who continue to carry the memories of their fellow service members.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, let us pause to remember those who made that possible. We honor their courage, their dedication, and their love for this country. May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we always strive to live in a way that honors their memory.
