When we think about lighting a sauna, we start from below. Set beneath the benches, low and warm, the light catches the grain of the wood and softens every edge in the room. Overhead light flattens a space and gives it that clinical, top-lit feel.

Light from below does the opposite. The shadows settle, the wood glows, and the whole room feels calmer the moment you step in. You notice it before you can explain it. That’s the point.

A long weekend is the perfect excuse to slow down.

Most people think of sauna as a winter thing. Summer just changes the rhythm.

The heat feels different against warm air, and the outdoor shower or cold plunge after is its own kind of relief. You move slower between rounds, linger longer by the water.

When the footprint is small, glass does a lot.

A smaller sauna doesn’t have to feel tight. The right window placement opens the room up, brings in natural light, and gives you something to look at.

When we think about more compact builds, less square footage with the right views and glass and ventilation can sometimes mean a better experience than larger saunas even.
