EZ Fishing

On Saturday June 13th Sam and Harout fished Pyramid Lake, CA with me.
After we launched, we saw shad on the surface jumping, as we headed to a bait spot but the striper weren't up on them yet. I heard later that they came up soon. We tried casting topwater plugs in the shad but didn't get any hits.
After we got set up on the bait spot, it wasn't long and we were catching fish.
Trollmeister Chris brought me some nice fresh frozen sardines. After that and the bite was even better.
Harout was doing most of the catching.
The fishing was good. We stayed in the same spot until we had 29 striper. They averaged close to 5 pounds.
We packed it in and got out of there before the hottest part of the day.
Fishing with Harout and Sam is always a good time! Thank you gentlemen!

Khanh Phuoc Nguyen and I fished Pyramid Lake, CA on Friday.
We started the day by me having the right fender ripped off of my trailer on I-5. It pulled the fender support right into the tire and shredded the tire. I called Khanh and he came back out to the Smokey Bear exit to help me.
We used the bow rope attached to my bumper and the bent piece to pull it out so that we could get the spare on. We got it done before the lake opened and were headed for the gate at 5:54.
Then we started fishing. We tried bait first and picked up 10 striper plus or minus 5 pounds. Khanh was hot stick, he got 7 and I got 3.
Then we went and tried fly core and picked up 5 decent fish from various spots.
We had a blast. It was a good day!

David Turner and Roland Reyes fish Pyramid Lake, CA with me today.
We spent some time trolling the fly core. These guys showed me how fly core is done. We picked up 5 nice fish then ran to the other end of the lake and set up on the bait bite.
We had a steady bite until closing time pickin9 up 23 fish on bait.
The lake doesn't close until 8pm now. Boats have to be off the lake at 7 now.

Ta Shia and Joseph Ho fished Pyramid Lake, CA with me today.
We E had good action all day. It was never wide open but we wouldn't wait to long between bites.
Joseph was hot stick. He just kept reeling in striper.
Later in the day we did a tire to check if other spots were biting. The answer was not really. In one spot we set up on fish and got 3 hits but didn't hook up. I had to mess with my Forward Facing Sonar because a connector had come loose. When I got up off of the floor I used the FFS to look around for the fish that had been right there. There were no fish in a 200 foot circle around the boat. I guess we scared them off.
It was a good day! We caught 22 striper.

Joseph Kamalmazyan and Sam Payaslyan fished with me today at Pyramid Lake, CA.

Trollmeister Chris picked up some bait for me last night. He brought it to me at the lake and delivered it before the lake opened. Thank you Trollmeister!

We fished next to Chris and his friend Cruz most of the day. We had a good time hiking around and telling fish stories

After we set up on a spot, we lost three fish right off the bat. After that we had wide open fishing all morning. We released over a dozen and lost a bunch of hooks to fish. I grabbed an old spool of leader because I lost the end of the good leader down in the spool and was in a hurry. Well, it turns out it was 4lb and older than dirt. It wasn't up to what we were putting it through! When I switched back to 6lb Opsin fluorocarbon. We got to keep a few more fish. 😁

We kept 27 or 28 striper and released over a dozen. We caught around 40 striper and only 2 were smaller than 4½lb.

We weighed the kill bag full of fish. It weighed 97lb. There was also another cooler full of striper.

I got a call from Paz, Adam's mom. Today is Adam's birthday. They had a Guide Trip planned for him but the trip got cancelled.
When she called me I was headed off to go get good bait. I initially told her I couldn't do it today, then she told me about Adam's birthday. I had to say yes to get out there for his birthday.

I met Adam and his dad Dan Hagshur at the Pyramid Lake, CA boat ramp at 11am and fished 4 hours in the middle of the day. That time frame isn't ideal but we still managed to get him 2 nice fish. He said he caught the biggest fish that he ever caught! Mission accomplished!

Adam did a good job telling in those nice fish!

The bite was much different from yesterday. The striper were picky. We got 4 good hits, missed 1, hooked 3, one of those spit a shredded bait back at us after a short run.

I saw lots of striper on the fish finder come up to within a few inches of a bait, then stop short and go back down.

Dave Bedrosian and Mark Beardsley fished Pyramid Lake, CA with me today. We started fishing at around 1pm.
We trolled the regular spots for a few hours. The fish finders showed many fish but we never got a hit.
Near the end of the day, we went and tried bait.
We meet Dat, an old friend from the FNN days and his friends when we were setting up. They were pulling up stakes, They had limited out.
They gave us a nice bag of bait. Thank you guys!
Well, bait was the ticket! We lost 2 baits and caught a fish on the first pole before I even got the second pole rigged.
We kept 4, tossed 1 and lost 4 in less than an hour. Our big fish was 6.8 pounds.
