We often ask, "How long should I keep this kitchen item?"

The truth is, there isn't a perfect timeline.

It really comes down to how often you use it, the quality of the item, and whether it's showing signs of wear. A cutting board with deep grooves or a sponge that's seen better days isn't just less effective, it can also impact food safety.

One of the simplest things you can do is get into the habit of checking the condition of the tools you use every day. Sometimes the little things in our kitchen can make a bigger difference than we realize.

Thanks to EatingWell for featuring my insights on this topic! If you're curious about which everyday kitchen items you should consider replacing, check out the article here: https://tinyurl.com/38rd224h

🌱 So what actually works long-term?

If dieting alone is often not sustainable, the focus shifts from restriction → to pattern of eating.

A growing body of research suggests that instead of calorie-focused dieting, long-term success is more closely linked to dietary quality, satiety, and consistency — not short-term deprivation.

This is where a whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) approach may be helpful for many people. By emphasizing high-fiber, nutrient-dense foods like vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains, this pattern naturally supports fullness, improves dietary quality, and reduces reliance on calorie restriction.

Studies on plant-based, low-fat dietary patterns have shown improvements in body weight, insulin sensitivity, and fat mass, largely due to higher fiber intake and lower energy density (e.g., Barnard et al., 2019; PMID: 30223451).

Instead of focusing on “eating less,” WFPB eating focuses on “eating better” — which may make adherence more sustainable for some individuals over time. 💚

Honored to be included in Plant Based Support’s Plant-Based Living 2025 Collection 🌱

This is a curated set of expert-led sessions designed to make whole-food, plant-based living more practical and easier to apply in real life.

Many people feel overwhelmed when exploring plant-based nutrition. Conflicting advice, complex rules, and too much information can make it confusing to know where to start.

This collection brings it back to clarity. It focuses on what actually works, and how to apply it in a sustainable way.

I’m grateful to contribute alongside others who are committed to making nutrition education more accessible and actionable.

If you’ve been exploring plant-based living, this is a helpful place to begin.

What’s your best therapy? 🌿

For me, it’s not always found in a clinic, a conversation, or a structured routine.

Sometimes it’s quieter than that.

It’s the sound of waves breaking against the shore, the stillness of trees standing without hurry, the way sunlight moves across water, reminding you that nothing needs to be forced.

Nature has a way of bringing us back to ourselves. ☀️

When life feels loud, complex, or heavy, stepping into a natural space doesn’t solve everything, but it softens something inside. It regulates what words often cannot.

We often underestimate how much healing happens when we slow down enough to simply observe, breathe, and exist without pressure. 🍃

This is your reminder that rest is not always about stopping everything.

It can also be about reconnecting with what is already calm and steady within you.

What’s your version of therapy?
