I’ve been a lot of places in my life…creeping up on nearly 30 countries to be exact…I’ve seen a lot of cultures and people and resilience but out of all of those places in this wide world…the soul, spirit, and solidarity of South Louisiana and the gulf states reigns supreme.

So much feels familiar as we prepare for the worst Mother Nature has ever dealt over the next 24 hours and the weeks to come…the anxiety - the brace for impact - the helplessness…

But when those feelings get loud, they’re matched and quickly surpassed by the revs of neighbors go-devils prepared to pull people from the unthinkable - the generators clicking on amidst doors open to “strangers” (if you’re from here or have been here, you know that word doesn’t exist in our dictionary) - the familiar sound of bootstraps being laced to walk into the aftermath carrying our people on our backs when theirs is a very different home to come back to…

Please keep New Orleans, the south central and SE regions of Louisiana, and the people weathering and sheltering from this storm all over close in heart and mind over the next few days.

When you’re struggling with that helplessness, simply start thinking about how you can save a few dollars on something today to give to the recovery efforts tomorrow and into the coming weeks - the good Lord knows we’re going to need it.

But at the end of the day - times like these for us are like cracking open an old familiar book. The chapter may be different but the story stays the same…whatever comes our way is met with a togetherness unsurpassed by any place in the entire world. We might end up treading but never alone…

In that, there’s a buoy. That’s the eye in our storm 🤍 Pray for Louisiana, y’all - there’s no place easier to love.
