Foster care has an end date. The effects don't. 🧭

The challenges that come with growing up in foster care don't end when a young person turns 18. Gaps in education, the absence of a family safety net, and the weight of building a life with few resources and little guidance can have a profound impact lasting throughout adulthood.

Transition-age youth who've experienced foster care face some of the highest rates of housing instability, unemployment, and isolation of any population of young people in the country.

This National Foster Care Month we want to talk about what happens after. And what's possible when programs like COMPASS refuse to let young people face it alone. 💙

With the help of COMPASS Programs, 100 youth aging out of foster care accessed vital transitional services, secured stable housing, gained job training, and enhanced their educational prospects during this past year! 🌟💪

These life-changing services have a profound and lasting impact on young adults on the journey to independence. We are proud to play a role in breaking the cycle and setting young adults on the path to success! 🤩🫶
