Special thanks for in Keller for donating hot dogs for SFR to sell to raise money for our team as we fight to advance in . We also decided to focus on community by selling cookie cutters to donate to the activities center for them to give away at their holiday bingo event! Doing Good Twice Over is one of our Team Values! Thanks to the community who supported our team yesterday! We were out there for 6 hrs in below freezing temps!
SFR had the pleasure of delivering several boxes of poinsettia plants to the Keller Senior Activities Center on behalf of our partnership with the community! Instead of just selling plants for fundraising, we wanted to make an impact (one of our !) Special thanks to and all of the community members who donated a plant!

Our robotics kids have decided to partner with the Keller Senior Activities Center. Should you want to do good twice over while they raise money for their team you can donate a plant to a local senior citizen. The team went to SMU to visit with Dr. Matthew Boulanger and Dr. Kelton Sheridan in cooperation with the North Texas Archaeological Society to talk about their work and view their archive. We ended up leaving with a tub of bones because Coach Madeleine has a colony of beetles that will clean them. Looking forward to a continued partnership and learning more!

Such a cool day meeting with archaeogeneticist in Paris, France and here at SMU to talk ancient diseases, DNA sequencing, and the problems professionals in their field are facing. The team came away super excited and inspired to design an innovative solution to problems being faced by scientists working on ancient skeletons ☠️🖤🦠

StarFire is already hard at work for this season of . Today they disassembled one of last year’s robots so they can tinker with some new design ideas and discussed the decision matrices they all filled out to logically determine what missions to focus on first. We also attended a zoom call with 4 archeologists who discussed the latest in the field.

has been so incredible for this rookie team! We are having a blast with all the teams we’ve met! While robot game didn’t go as well as we’d hoped (BART apparently doesn’t enjoy travel despite pirate status!) we know that WHAT WE LEARN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT WE WIN!
