A fellow artist and I went to draw at Foster's Botanical Garden expecting palm trees and Hawaiian landscapes.

Then we came across this small area of dark cool forest which had to be drawn.

I concentrated deeply on this flower at the Botanical Gardens in D.C. as people pushed around and made a lot of noise around me. After an hour, I realized that the flower had turned around and was looking at me. There was a connection.

Lately, there's been a lot of talk about interiors that feel lived-in but still pulled together. Warm lighting, soft textures, and just the right amount of charm.
