On November 16 & 17, each and every second grader in the Juneau public schools will visit Sealaska Heritage Institute’s Walter Soboleff Building, a center for the sharing and study of Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian cultures. Students will explore the building’s gallery to learn about the regalia and other cultural items displayed, and assemble in Shuká Hít--the traditional clan house--to hear cultural stories.
This is the third annual visit offered in November to honor the anniversary of Walter Soboleff's birthday.
