The new cross gulf ferry will continue the modernization of Alaska's Marine Highway System by providing reliable and dependable service to our coastal communities.

⚓️ A HISTORIC milestone for the Alaska Marine Highway System!
The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities has identified Louisiana-based Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors, L.L.C. as the apparent low bidder to build the new Tustumena Replacement Vessel (TRV), with a public bid price of $349,996,251.
This contract bid opening marks the first major AMHS vessel procurement in more than a decade and represents a massive step forward in replacing the iconic M/V Tustumena, which has faithfully served coastal Alaska communities since 1964.
The new, state-of-the-art vessel will improve reliability, enhance safety, and continue providing a critical lifeline for families, freight, and local economies along Southcentral Alaska, the Alaska Peninsula, and the eastern Aleutians.

CLOSING A GAP IN CARE I Governor Mike Dunleavy signed HB 73 into law, creating a framework for Complex Care Residential Homes and expanding care options for Alaskans with complex behavioral health and medical needs.

Commissioner Heidi Hedberg called the legislation "a pathway for Alaskans with complex needs to receive individualized care in safe, supportive, home-like environments."
