Here is one of my high school students, before taking lessons she consistently shot in the 110’s for 18 holes. One of the first things I mainly fixed was club path in the back swing and body tilt.
(First Slide) As you can see in the first image you can see before that her hands came way inside, this allowed the club to travel to the top and come way over the top in the downswing. In the picture below you can see her club head in even with her hands and angled perfectly with her lead forearm.
(Second Slide) Next step was to gain more width in the back swing to minimize the error of the arms and hands traveling far inside, from both photos you can see the main difference in the delayed wrist hinge and further extension with the arms in the photo on top.
(Third Slide) Last thing we worked on was Isabella’s body tilt towards the top of her swing, a lot of amateurs struggle with this and have learned to rotate this way. In this instance we have gotten her to sway and put more weight on her back leg. This puts her body behind the ball and gets her rotation correct as her tilt is no longer there.
In the last few months Isabella has improved from a 110 shooter to a mid 90’s player, if you put in the practice the results will come.
