The Chapin Area Rescue Squad is the provider of basic life support ambulance service to the communities of Chapin, Concord, and the surrounding rural area. The squad was started in the spring of 2007, with a small number of volunteers, a vehicle on loan from the Chapin Volunteer Fire Department, and augmented by the Meredosia/Bluffs Volunteer Rescue Squad.
