Hey friends,

My studio, Catbird Studio opens in February! I hope to see some of my old clients again. ❤️

Many have asked about the meaning of “Fine Art” photography, so we wanted to explain!

Fine-art photography is an artist’s vision or creative expression through photographs. The goal is to express ideas, stories, and emotions, to create a personal depth within the subject and a connection with anyone viewing it. Since we are offering fine art portraits, our sessions will feature the couples, families, children, pets, etc. of our community in this artistic way.

This type of photography has no box to for in. It can be simplistic life, reality-altering, dark and moody, or a thousand other things. It can be soft and out of focus or have hard lines, dramatic focal points, and shadows. It can be many of those things all in one session!

The Catbird photographers have brainstormed at length on how to have a cohesive fine art portrait studio with more than one artist. We have already started going over our style differences during session and in post-production (editing). What I can say FOR SURE is, you have a team of pro photographers at your disposal that can't wait to create a piece of art to represent you, your family, and your vision. We want to share in the creativity with you, have fun, and enjoy the process.

Some have asked if fine art photography means it will be fancy and extremely expensive. The answer is, it can be fancy, but it doesn’t have to be and while some charge thousands to do what we do, we can assure you ours will NOT.
