A common myth is that hospice is only for the final days. In reality, hospice is about living better, not about how long you live. Studies show those in hospice often spend more time at home with loved ones, experience better pain control, and enjoy a higher quality of life. It also significantly reduces grief for family members.

Her husband was dying, but she refused to move him to a hospital bed. For 60 years, they'd slept together. The thought of not rolling over and finding him there was the hardest part of losing him. Hospice support helped her through this profound transition.
