Aiden McWhorter, a Riley cancer survivor, had his first day of kindergarten! His picture before heading off to school illustrates how much has changed for him since his first day of radiation.

His mom said she couldn’t help but quote Harry Potter as Aiden climbed onto the school bus as “the boy who lived.”

Aiden was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma just days after his first birthday in 2019. He underwent five rounds of chemotherapy, 12 rounds of radiation and more. Aiden relapsed in 2020. Once again, Aiden had to go through chemotherapy and radiation. The journey made the moment Aiden was able to ring the bell, to mark the end of treatment, so special to his family.
