Cultural humility isn’t just a concept—it’s a practice.
On November 6, 2025, join us for a powerful and interactive workshop: Cultural Competency for Serving Inner City Families. This virtual session, hosted by the Indiana University School of Social Work, will explore how social workers and human service professionals can better understand systemic barriers, honor lived experiences, and serve families in our communities with dignity and respect.
Led by Bernard Mickle, a husband, father, and community leader whose work centers on healing families and transforming neighborhoods, this workshop will equip you with tools to:
• Recognize the impact of cultural narratives in service delivery.
• Apply culturally informed practices with integrity.
• Strengthen your ability to engage families in ways that promote equity, trust, and long-term impact.
🗓 Date/Time: November 6, 2025 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (Virtual)

An Unforgettable Weekend at the Hopeful Tomorrows Retreat 💍
Leslie and I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Hopeful Tomorrows Intensive Weekend Retreat, and we are beyond grateful for the experience. This wasn’t just a weekend getaway—it was a transformational journey for our marriage.
We walked away with powerful tools to strengthen our communication, deepen our empathy, and navigate challenges with grace. It reminded us that every marriage has seasons of struggle and renewal, but with God’s guidance, the right tools, and a commitment to growth, we can build a love that lasts.
A huge thank you to our mentors and the Hopeful Tomorrows team for pouring into us and so many couples. We left feeling inspired, encouraged, and equipped to continue building a marriage that reflects God’s love.
💡 Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that a Life Sustained Retreat is coming soon! Stay tuned for details as we create a space for couples to grow closer to each other and to God.

Had an amazing time celebrating my bride and best friend birthday this weekend!! I am blessed to see you through yet another year! Age don’t have nothing on you haha.
I pray many more blessings over your life. As you continue to grow and be molded into the graceful, merciful godly woman that you are. With what God has in store for you, I know that many lives will be changed because of you!! Let this year ahead be nothing short of favor and success. I love you dearly and I am looking forward to continually be on your side as you give me the honor of leading our family day in and day out. I am not the man I am without you! My favor literally comes from finding a good thing!!

Sunday I had the opportunity to do my daughter Karis hair alongside my wife during a wash and go class at their salon. Not only was it hard, I truly underestimated the time, intentionality, details that it takes to do their hair.
Mind you, my wife has been the one doing their hair since birth. Never has she complained. Neglected the girls hair, or forced me to help.
Shout out to for her relentless mothering ability lol. She the true G-MOAT (Greatest-Mother of All Time).
Don’t get me wrong, from time to time I have refreshed their hair. Assisted with prep to wash and do their hair, but never have I done their hair from wash
