ISC Gators 2014/2015 u12

Tryout season can be tough, especially with this year's age grouping change (from birth year to school year). We have a few open spots on our roster and are looking for some talented young ladies who want to join a fun, family-oriented team.

A little more about us:
-Coach Jenny played soccer all her life, through high school and into college where a knee injury ended her incredible career. She's coached both club and rec soccer teams, leading her teams to multiple championships (both indoor and outdoor) while still focusing on skill development and getting the girls ready for the next level (middle school/high school).

-Coach Owen (married to coach Jenny) has been around sports all his life and played soccer through grade school. His professional sports experience includes a six-year stint in the front office of a Minor League Baseball team, and he's been proud to coach both his daughters for the last 5-6 years. Both coaches are nationally certified in coaching soccer at multiple levels, concussion protocols, and child safety.

-We've been playing up (12 fifth graders played in a sixth-grade league) for the last two years. Despite this challenge, the Gators won our indoor session this winter and were finalists in the Turf Classic. Due to the age change, we are rebracketing ourselves to repeat the u12 age group this season, with more than half of our team having 20+ games of u12 experience already.

Let’s give a big shoutout to Jane and Delaney for their first CPL goals tonight! Delaney was perfectly positioned for a rebound shot for a 1-0 lead and after we fell behind 2-1, Jane single-handedly took the ball up the sideline, pivoted toward goal and blasted it into the net. The rest of the Gators did their parts to maintain the tie and earn another point (our fourth tie in seven games…one of these days it’s going to be a W! But we’re proud of our girls who are playing up a level for another month. Looking forward to the age change this summer and what we can do against competition our age!) Independence Soccer Club

You know who also had a long weekend? The siblings, parents, and grandparents of our players. We mostly just have younger siblings in this picture, but so thankful to all who support this team year in and year out. It absolutely takes a village and we love our extended soccer family! What a weekend! These girls accomplished so much, earning their first ever club tournament medals and growing closer as a team between games. It's a shame that it ended in the finals with a loss to a pre-ECNL team (that's a discussion for another day), but we're holding our heads high and letting our bling shine! Go Gators, chomp chomp!
