Can we just be honest about small business for a second?

Like really honest.

You had a Tuesday last month where you made $3,000 before noon. You were on TOP of the world. You were texting your boo like “babe, we’re going on vacation. This is IT. This is the moment.”

And then you had a Thursday this week where you made $14.

The whiplash of this business is REAL. And nobody prepares you for it.

Nobody tells you that you can have your best month ever and your worst month ever back to back.

Nobody tells you that you’ll be checking your payment dashboard at 2am just to be sure.

Nobody tells you that you’ll do the math in your head at 11pm trying to figure out if you can pay yourself this month.

I need to tell you about a man named Isaac. (Yes, it’s a Bible story).

Isaac was a farmer and in Bible times, farming WAS your boutique. It was your entire livelihood. One bad season could wipe out everything.

The land where Isaac lived went through a severe famine. A drought. The kind where you look at your field and see nothing coming up and feel nothing but dread in your stomach.

God came to Isaac in that season and said: do not go down to Egypt. Stay in this land. Stay where I tell you.

And then He said something that had to sound absolutely insane in the middle of a famine:

“I will be with you and I will bless you.”

Isaac stayed. And he planted.

In a famine. On dry ground. With no guarantee of rain.

And Scripture says: “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold because the Lord blessed him.”

A hundredfold. In a FAMINE. In the same year he planted in dry ground.

Here’s what wrecks me about this story Isaac couldn’t see the hundredfold when he was putting seeds in the dirt. He just had a promise and a choice.

Stay or run.

Plant or quit.

Trust or panic.

Heres the thing… I know the dashboard looks dry right now. I know you’ve refreshed it seventeen times today and the number hasn’t moved. I know you’re doing math in your head that isn’t adding up.

But can I ask you … are you still planting?

Are you still posting?

Still emailing your list?

Still showing up for your customers even when sales are slow?

Still putting seeds in the ground even when the ground looks dry?

The hundredfold doesn’t come from the months you coast. It comes from the months you planted anyway.
