Broken Plates
My process begins by first blowing a plate in a hot shop, where I choose and apply layers of color that will serve as the canvas for these glassy wearables. The images start as drawings that are then sandblasted into the surface of the glass. Glass powders are inset into these sandblasted areas and fused to the plate in a kiln.
