Found this once-formidable, still beautiful Ducati rusting away on the streets of Austin.

Paid a visit to Austin a couple of weeks ago and took some night shots. More shots to come later. πΈπ§ββοΈ

Good morning and happy belated new year! Here are a few nature shots I took while on a walk back in the fall. I think the mossy rock is my favorite.

This is another lens attachment I designed and 3D printed, and this one I am particularly proud of. I had these little mirrors laying around from another project, and made a kaleidoscope filter out of them. The resulting picture is straight out of camera, with no editing done, and looks so cool and dreamy.

Just because I haven't been posting doesn't mean I haven't been shooting pictures and doing other photography projects. One thing I've been sinking a lot of time into is 3D-Printing my own camera gear and accessories, and I don't just mean practical things like memory card holders and lens caps. I've been designing and printing a lot of more whimsical things as well. One particular category of things I've been enjoying printing is filters for attaching to my lenses. Over the next few days, I'll show off some of the ideas I designed and printed.
This first design is copied from another filter idea I saw, though I tweaked it a bit to fit my 50mm lens and altered a few other parameters. The result is meant to replicate the swirly bokeh of an old vintage lens like the Helios 44-2.
More to come soon! I can also share the .stl files if anyone is interested in printing any of these!
This was the filter that kicked off this whole endeavor. It's based on another design I saw online. The idea is that it gives the bokeh a "swirly" look usually only found in expensive vintage lenses. I think this is a pretty good imitation.

A touch of nostalgia for your Wednesday.

Took this one out by a stream. Just appreciating the beauty of the moss and the texture of the rock, along with the light filtering through the trees and reflecting up from the water below.
