A community this size needs a voice, something that reflects the broad opinions, lifestyles and the way we live. And people, naturally, have stories. What do your kids think about their schools? Where's a good place to find a dentist? How about that new place off of 99? Our aim is for you to pick up this magazine and have answers to all of those questions. I created UpClose Magaz

Save the date for the Fort Bend County Libraries’ Book Festival, a celebration of books, authors, and the power of imagination! Join us for a day filled with exciting activities for all ages, including a Friends of the Library book sale, a local Author Meet & Greet, games at the Kids’ Book Carnival, and an inspiring Polynesian Storytelling Performance. Don’t miss the chance to chat with "Olympus, Texas" author Stacey Swann or try your hand at the Mythic Mayhem Escape Room! Enjoy tasty eats from food trucks and a lively atmosphere with performances in the outdoor amphitheater.

Order of events:
10:00 am-2:00 pm – Friends of the Library Book Sale, front entrance. All proceeds from the book sales help support the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the libraries.
10:00 am-2:00 pm – Author Meet & Greet, Lobby.
10:00 am-2:00 pm – Kids’ Book Carnival, Bohachevsky Gallery. Games and activities for families with kids of all ages.
10:00 am - 12:00 noon – Mythic Mayhem Escape Room, Meeting Room. In this come-and-go activity, teams of up to 8 members will enter through a virtual portal into another place and time, where they must solve puzzles to find their way through multiple mythical worlds to return to the present!
11:00-11:45 am – Polynesian Storytelling Performance, Jodie E. Stavinoha Amphitheater.
12:00-12:45 pm – Polynesian Storytelling Performance (repeat of 11:00 am show)
1:00-2:00 pm – A Conversation with Stacey Swann, author of Olympus, Texas, the 2024 “Community Reads” selection. Meeting Room.
1:00 pm – Book Lovers Raffle, Meeting Room.
