💊I had the loveliest interaction with a dad today who thought it might be too late to book their placenta services because mom birthed in the middle of the night and they didn’t get the chance to book ahead of time!
📆Last minute clients are ALWAYS welcome at Houston Placenta Services. Please don’t ever think you’ve left it too long or missed your chance to have your placenta processed. I get calls almost daily from families either heading to the birthing facility, in actual labour or the baby was just born and the placenta has been placed on ice in a cooler or taken home to be frozen.
All you need to do is secure a cooler just like the one here, bring it to the birthing facility and you’re good to go…I’ll guide you from there. In the case of this family, the hospital were amazing and stored the placenta until dad had everything arranged. And now, mom is in for a gorgeous postpartum healing. 🥰

🤔How will you know which is which?
❎Hospital rules are generally referred to as protocols.
✅Protocols are vastly set by the hospital board and/or the risk management dept, legal dept and insurance companies to protect the hospital in the case of legal matters.
✅State laws and human rights laws are set to protect the birthing person in times of need.
⭐️For example, many hospitals have a protocol that a birthing person will receive a cervical check every one to two hours, the law says a person has full rights to make their own medical decision without coercion. There is a big difference…hospital rules do not over ride the law. If in doubt, when a procedure or form of care is being offered, ask, “Is this hospital protocol or state law?
⭐️This is just one of the many topics we cover in our HypnoBirthing class, when a birthing family know how to ask educated questions and advocate for themselves, they are better equipped to make informed decisions should anything arise during the birth.
✅My next series of HypnoBirthing classes start next month with ONLINE class options. Come join us! (Link in bio!).
