Dear AUSA Houston Metroplex Members,
AUSA National Headquarters has been asked to assist the Houston Metroplex chapter in its upcoming election. We will use the procedures outlined in the chapter operations manual in the AUSA Houston Metroplex Chapter By-Laws to conduct the election.
The purpose of this email is to solicit nominations for Chapter President and Chapter Vice President.
On January 14 - 15, we will hold the 2025 Houston Metroplex Chapter election, which will determine the chapter president and chapter vice president for the period of January 2025 through 31 December 2026.

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:
Chapter President
The President is executive officer of the chapter. Presides at the meetings of the Executive Committee and at General Membership Meetings. Appoints, with the concurrence of the Executive Committee, any non-elected officers and committee chairpersons. Responsible for insuring a sound organization and effective overall chapter management.
Vice President
The Vice President assists the president in the overall management of the chapter. Presides in the president's absence. In the event the president is no longer able to serve, assumes the duties of the president until a special election can be held.
INSTRUCTIONS for NOMINATIONS:
Nominations for the positions of the chapter president and vice president may be submitted to nominating chair Eva Nehikhare at [email protected] on or before COB on or before 21 December 2024.
You may self-nominate or nominate someone else. Nominees must be current members of AUSA and members of the Houston Metroplex chapter. They had to have served on the Houston Executive Committee for two years in an officer's position for eligibility to run for elected office. ATTENTION:
On Tuesday, 14 January 2025, digital election ballots will be emailed to all chapter members, and the results of the election will be provided to the chapter president on Monday, 20 January 2025.
KEY DATES:
· 14 December - 21 December 2024: Submit your nominations
· 14 - 15 January 2025: Submit your votes
· 20 January 2025: AUSA National will provide results to chapter president
