Insurance Coverage Q&A: Matching and pair & set clause | PropertyCasualty360 When the replacement windows don't match the undamaged windows, does the pair and set clause apply?
Another unfortunate & devastating event for our Great State of Texas...
With temperatures rising and Texans trying to return to normalcy it is important to keep an eye out for potential damages to your property.
I’d like to offer the following advice:
1. Locate your policies and review coverages to see which may apply to your loss and know your deductibles. If coverage extends, call your claims in and expect to be in queue. Insurance carriers have also been knocked offline and are prioritizing/ focusing all efforts on managing Claims and restoring systems.
2. Take pictures of your damage (up close and far away) this helps adjusters understand the magnitude of your losses especially if you decide to repair the damage prior to an adjuster visiting with you (delays should be expected).
3. Repair/Restore damaged property- Verify the hired technicians/contractors are qualified and insured to complete the work needed, request work invoices which specifically states what was included in their work bid. Material and labor? Labor only- need to specify!Request PAID receipts for items paid out of your pocket.
4. If you have common shared lines:
(Condominium/Townhomes) verify what your HOA covers so you do not take on an unnecessary repair expense and submit emergency service calls to your HOA so they can generate a ticket for service to their trusted vendors/contractors.
📌All in all- Documentation is key! This helps adjusters expedite their files and helps consumers get a tiny step closer to closing this chapter. Stay Strong Texas! 🙏🏼
