It was a special gathering of distinguished leaders from the Korean American community at a luncheon hosted by the Korean Consulate in Houston to welcome the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Consul General Kyung-eun Lee.

The event brought together business leaders, community advocates, and organizational partners who play an integral role in strengthening the bridge between Korea and the Greater Houston region. It provided a valuable opportunity to foster dialogue, exchange perspectives, and build new relationships with Consul General Lee as she begins her tenure.

We look forward to working closely with Consul General Kyung-eun Lee and the Consulate team to further elevate the impact of the Korean American community and deepen economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Korea and Texas.

Unity Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe. I was truly inspired by their dedication and passion for the arts, cultural tradition, and community. The dancers range in age from just 9 years old and up, a testament to how these traditions are being passed on to the next generation.

I was profoundly honored to be invited to participate in the eye-dotting ceremony, a traditional Chinese ritual that spiritually awakens the lion or dragon. Through the placement of red paint on the eyes and other parts of the figure, these once inanimate forms are transformed into powerful, lively beings, symbolizing the infusion of life, good fortune, and protection.

The pleasure was all mine partaking in giving Christmas toys to children and students at the Foerster Elementary School organized by .htx

Over 500 toys were generously donated by Jam’N Products.

In attendance were US Congressman, Al Green, Texas 9th Congressional District and his District Deputy Director, Crystal Webster; The Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Houston Board, Casey Kang, Ethan Lee, Vivienne Kwon, Daniel Yoo, Dana Oh, Anthony.
