It’s been a long day. Minnie was on the surgery table for 5 hours. So they stopped for her safety and recommended coming back in 6 months for an additional dental.
She had 21 extractions today. I’m not surprised. That’s how infected her mouth was. Her spay went well. Her blood chemistry was good. She’s heartworm and full tick borne disease panel negative.
So things can only look up from here and she should be feeling much better soon and will then be looking for an amazing home.
Her invoice today was $1,521.88.
Rescue isn’t cheap and adoption fees don’t come close to covering the cost of getting a dog ready for adoption.

Minnie was dropped off at the vet this morning for surgery… spay, dental, microchip, etc. Her mouth is gross so I won’t be surprised if there are more extractions than kept teeth.
Dr. Harris called me and said that her preanesthetic bloodwork was good. So, they can proceed with surgery.
Intaking dogs that need full vetting is very expensive, especially when it involves dentals. Today will be well over $1k depending on the number of extractions.
