od. Brigitte began to notice the transformative nature of cooking a meal or a dessert and sharing the experience and the food itself with others. It produced intense connection, evoked lovely memories, and inspired others to turn to the food of their formative years. Brigitte also just really missed eating the food her mother and aunts made for her, specifically the cookies and desserts she grew up eating. Those desserts were a labor of love and were conceived and lovingly created over decades in the heart of a home kitchen. So, it stands to reason that her home kitchen would be the ideal location for the beginning years of Yalla Sweets. Our Philosophy
Our mission at Yalla Sweets is first and foremost to make sweets that taste good and speak the stories of the women who helped inspire them. Our goal is to honor our family's history by perfecting their tried and tested recipes for Palestinian desserts while also experimenting with modern flavors and ingredients. We take inspiration from our Palestinian roots and upbringing, as well as from our beloved birthplace--Houston, Texas. We promise to utilize local and sustainable products where and when possible. And we promise to make every morsel with love and gratitude for those who paved the way and for those who find their way to our little homegrown bakery. Want to connect or collaborate?
