When I was growing up, my grandmother used to always end the conversation with, “Be anxious for nothing.”

As a kid, I didn’t know what that meant, but it stuck with me. As I began to mature and read the Bible, I once read a verse and thought, “Ahh! This is what she was referring to.” She must have known that her little granddaughter had a propensity for worrying, and to this day, in the midst of my mind racing a hundred different directions, this verse always brings me calm.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
