The tiniest little darts hold the biggest place in my heart. Ranitomeya reticulata is one of my favorite species of animals in the world. Found this little parent raised gem today.

Rain always gets the darts fired up and Miz Liz decided she would not be shown up this time and started laying as well! Love this goofy girl.

Sometimes opportunity comes knocking on your door when you least expect it. What started out as me doing some usual amphibian consultation work has turned into me officially accepting a position as Supervisor of Herpetology and Entomology with the Houston Zoo. Thus, I am announcing my retirement from doing shows full-time. I appreciate every one of you that has supported me, let me nerd out about the animals I love so much and providing me with the opportunity to grow my business! Urban Amphibia will still live on and I will continue to keep and breed dart frogs (among other species) but I just can’t pass up this opportunity to teach, learn and grow these underrepresented departments at one of the most visited zoos in the country.
