We’re excited to be back with another “Featured Farm Friday” post! This week, we are featuring Prairie Grass Ranch 🌾 @prairie.grass.ranch is an organic farm in Hill County, Montana owned and operated by third-generation farmers Jody and Crystal Manuel and their children. ⛰ The Manuels raise heritage grains and legumes, including lentils, chickpeas, peas, alfalfa, kernza®, and sanfoin sweet clover as well as organic grass-fed beef in native Montana mountain grasses. They also raise a handful of Duroc pigs each year, and they recently launched Gruff, an online marketplace that sells certified organic grits (find them at @gruffgrains)! 🌍 Describe your farm in a few words: cutting-edge, wellness 🌻 Where is your happy place on your farm? Family gatherings, fields and pastures in springtime, down by the creek ☀ Why Organic? We have a long-held commitment and passion focusing on the connection between healthy soil and wellness, all stemming from the microbial level and fueled by the sun's energy. This all began as the result of a life-threatening illness for Crystal back in the nineties. The end result was an awakening that led us to challenge the way we were taught to farm, ranch, and live.
