There is not a single person, place, or thing that has borne witness to more of my adult life than Bella. Sadly this weekend we were forced to say goodbye after 17 years. I wasn’t ready, but she was. To know her was to fear her, and she knew exactly how pretty she was. She was a fighter from the beginning - at 4 weeks found on the streets and scaling my jeans with her claws - all the way until her final moments with cancer defying all odds and continuing to jump, thrive, and confuse vets.

She loved no one but me and maybe occasionally Scott, and honestly I wouldn’t want it any other way. My heart aches but I’m so grateful for her companionship through so many messy parts of my life.

Goodbye to my sweet Bella-Rina.

The teens put out 15 full sized carrots for the reindeer, 2 cookies for Santa, and then requested an autograph.
