The first Antietam Illumination was created on snowy fields on a very cold December day. Camera batteries didn't last very long...the volunteers were freezing, but they got it done. The weather was much more like Napoleon's 1812 invasion of Russia. It's amazing that the volunteers came back for the second year . This is the icy view from the Bloody Lane Tower. We hope it doesn't snow on Dec 6...it's very pretty...but.......
