We are located in Greenville, SC. Dog Squad is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit shelter-less animal rescue organization established in 2022. We rescue many of our dogs from euthanasia at overcrowded shelters. We also take in sick, injured, abused, and abandoned stray dogs who may not have been given a second chance otherwise. Weβre going to be honestβ¦
Rescue has been really heavy lately.
There are seasons where it feels like every phone call brings bad news, every inbox message is another animal that needs help, and every decision carries the weight of knowing you canβt save them all.
We love this work. We wouldnβt trade it for anything.
But weβre also human.
Yesterday, we both took the day off from our regular jobs and had a little daycation. The dogs were still cared for, of course, but we stepped away from the constant notifications, fundraising, and social media for just one day. We needed to laugh. We needed to breathe. We needed to remember who we are outside of rescue.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for the dogs is make sure the people caring for them arenβt running on empty.
Then today, this showed up in the mail.
Our official 2026 Best of South Carolina β Animal Rescue & Shelters award.
The timing honestly made us emotional.
Because if weβre being realβ¦ there are days we wonder if what weβre doing is enough. Days we question ourselves. Days we feel completely overwhelmed by the need.
This reminded us that weβre not doing this alone.
Every vote. Every donation. Every foster. Every adoption. Every share. Every person who tells someone else about Dog Squad.

So thank you.
Not just for this award, but for believing in a mission that often feels impossible.
