If I had to describe my week so far, this would sum it up beautifully.

This week, two clients made the decision to pull their homes off the market. (Classic domino situation was in play)

I knew those conversations were coming. We’d already been talking through every angle & ultimately it was the right decision for them.

Before we even got into the conversation, I could tell they were worried about how I’d respond.

They didn’t want me to feel like my time had been wasted & they genuinely didn’t want me to be disappointed.

After one of those conversations, a client sent me a message that said,

“I appreciate that you’re always willing to initiate and have difficult conversations respectfully.”

In that moment I saw how much I’ve grown. I’m not sure when it was exactly that I stopped measuring success solely by whether a house sold and started measuring it by something more.

Did my clients feel safe enough to tell me the truth?

Because let’s face it, sometimes the best decision isn’t to move… sometimes it actually is to stay.

I think that’s what good representation should feel like though. Not someone trying to convince you to keep going, but someone willing to help you figure out what’s actually best for you.

The more homes you buy and sell, the less you care about the sales pitch.

You start paying attention to different things.

How does this person think?
How do they solve problems?
Will they challenge my ideas?
Can they bring something to the table that I can’t?

Working with Zach and Jessica reminded me of that. They know this industry. They know what good marketing looks like. So earning their trust meant a lot.
