2026 Safety Stand Down observed today at the Corewell Resident Housing Project.

The joint venture team of Spesh Construction and The Christman Company came together to focus on fall prevention, reinforce safe work practices, and strengthen our shared commitment to jobsite safety.

Thank you to the Kent Companies crew for their participation and continued commitment to safety on site.

Falls remain one of the leading causes of injuries in construction - which is why awareness and prevention matter every single day.

During this year’s Safety Stand-Down, we’re reinforcing the Fall Protection Hierarchy:

- Eliminate the hazard
- Passive protection
- Travel restraint
- Fall arrest
- Administrative controls

The goal is simple: address risks at the source and prioritize the most effective solutions first.

Safety isn’t a checklist - it’s a mindset built into every task, every crew, every day.

A major milestone was achieved this week with the successful mat foundation concrete pour on the Corewell Health GME Residency Housing project.

This highly coordinated effort included:

• 2,500 yards of concrete
• 250 concrete trucks
• 3 pumps placing 100 yards/hour each
• 12+ hours of continuous placement
• 3 concrete plants supplying material

A huge thank‑you to Kent Companies, our concrete subcontractor, for executing this pour safely and efficiently.

Proud to deliver this project through the Spesh Construction and The Christman Company joint venture, with strong collaboration across all teams.

Exciting progress is underway on the Corewell Health GME Residency Housing project.

This 6-story, 119-unit residential building will provide modern housing for medical residents and support the continued growth of healthcare services in Grand Rapids.

Mat foundation work is well underway - excavation is nearing completion, mud mat is largely in place, and reinforcing steel installation has begun.

The project is being delivered through a joint venture between The Christman Company and Spesh Construction, with strong collaboration across all teams on site.

Featured here is part of the Spesh team on site, including Project Engineer Adis Hasic, joined by Senior Superintendent Shawn Katip during a recent site visit.

Looking forward to the next phases as we continue building toward a Spring 2027 completion.
