Mural by Design

This Alaska theme mural that I had the honor to design and paint it in collaboration with the Armstrong International Inc, at one of their conference rooms and transform it into a lodge, in memory of their late CEO, Gas Armstrong.
The landscape and the architectural elements were inspired by an actual place and space. I tried to recreate an illusion of the lodge, the landscape around, and the light as realistic as possible. It was a real challenge to create a natural, straight looking horizon on four intercepting walls, also a warm light in one wall and cooling it incrementally on the rest of them as it would be noticed in real world. Painting it with bold, expressive brush marks that are more noticeable when getting closer, yet creating a realistic illusion was another very engaging challenge for me, and painting that way it makes the mural always inviting and engaging with it.

The customer loves Tuscany, but never been there, so I designed and painted these two murals for her wine and cellar bar at their lower level. The mural theme is wrapped around the bar to feel as natural as possible, and the wooden structure and marble are painted to feel real and as a continuation of the actual architectural elements.
