C**k Coffee Roaster — Origin Story

I didn’t start out as a coffee roaster.
I started on the marketing side of the coffee industry.

For years, I worked around coffee — learning how it’s sourced, roasted, packaged, and sold. But when I eventually left that organization, I ran into a simple problem:

I still wanted good coffee.

What I found instead was the reality most people don’t think about.
Supermarket coffee can sit on shelves for months. By the time you buy it, it’s often stale, flat, and nothing like what fresh coffee is supposed to taste like.

So I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I bought a small coffee roaster and started roasting for myself, using what I had learned from my previous job. At first, it was just about having fresh coffee at home. I experimented, adjusted roast levels, messed up a few batches, and slowly figured out what worked.

Eventually, I got pretty good at it.

Good enough that I started giving bags away to friends and family.
Then they started asking for more.
Then they started asking if they could buy it.

What started as a personal project in California back in 2018 slowly turned into something bigger. I began offering my coffee online through Etsy and selling it locally in small batches.

But before I could really grow it, I needed a name.

I kept coming back to one simple idea:
Coffee wakes you up… and so do roosters.

I wanted something catchy, memorable, easy to say, and a little bold — something that matched the personality behind the brand.

That’s when C**k Coffee Roaster was born.

In 2026, the brand found a new home in Arizona, where I’m continuing to roast fresh, small-batch coffee and build something rooted in quality, community, and the belief that coffee should be enjoyed at its peak — not months after it was roasted.

Today I still roast with the same mindset I started with:
Fresh coffee first. No shortcuts. No warehouse-stale beans. Just carefully roasted coffee meant to be enjoyed when it’s at its best.

Because once you’ve had truly fresh coffee…
there’s no going back.
