If you've ever heard people talk about Mercury retrograde, you may have also heard the term pre-shadow.

The pre-shadow is the period before a planet officially goes retrograde. During this time, it begins moving through the same degrees it will revisit later, which is why certain themes or situations can start showing up early.

You might reconnect with someone, revisit an old idea, or notice recurring patterns. It doesn't mean something bad is happening. It simply gives you a chance to pay attention before the deeper review begins.

Think of it as the trailer before the movie. The themes appear first, then the retrograde gives you the opportunity to slow down and understand them.
