The Box Theory
Everyone talks about "balance".
But almost every exceptional business was built by someone who was obsessed.
O, Founder of The Box Theory shares on The DMV Business Show how she is obsessed with her business and I love it.
Because obsession is needed.
Obsessed with solving one problem.
Obsessed with making the product or service better.
Obsessed with listening to customers.
Obsessed with improving when nobody was watching.
Obsession is not about working 100-hour weeks to impress people.
It is about caring so deeply that "good enough" never feels good enough.
The businesses that stand out aren't usually built by people chasing trends.
They're built by people who can't stop thinking about how to create more value.
That level of focus compounds.
One better product or service.
One better conversation.
One better decision.
Day after day.
The world often labels obsession as unhealthy, until it produces extraordinary results.
The key is directing your obsession toward creating value, not chasing validation.

When Alisa Lin also known as O, Founder and Owner of The Box Theory first came to the United States as a 17-year-old exchange student from bustling Bangkok, she found herself in a tiny Idaho town surrounded by fields and a close-knit high school class of just 16 people.
The dramatic shift from a busy city to small-town America could have been overwhelming but for O, it became one of the best years of her life.
Immersed in an entirely different culture and forced to improve her English, she found warmth in the coziness of her adopted community and embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.
Fast forward to today, and that same spirit of embracing new adventures and communities has guided O as she built The Box Theory.
Her experience as an outsider who found her place through openness now shapes how she connects with customers and crafts her uniquely artistic catering creations.
It is proof that stepping into the unknown can lead to life changing discoveries and sometimes to a business fueled by both art and heart.
Do not miss O's episode premiere on The DMV Business Show tomorrow Tuesday, July 7th!
Real work. Real lessons. Real family legacy in the making.
We’re incredibly grateful to Greater Rockville Chamber of Commerce for welcoming us with open arms and trusting The Box Theory to cater this month’s New Member Breakfast Orientation.
One of the most meaningful parts of the morning wasn’t just having my boy, Cooking with Chef Gs work alongside me. It was watching Gregory introduce himself, represent our business, and practice real-world leadership, communication, and entrepreneurial skills. These are lessons that simply can’t be taught in a classroom.
We’re not just building a business. We’re building character, confidence, and a family legacy that we hope will last for generations.
Thank you for giving our family this opportunity.
