Blue-green algae blooms can be fatal when your dog swallowd affected water while playing in lakes. Multiple locations in Harrington Lake have been confirmed to have the algae. The algae may not be obvious to the eye, so please be aware and better to be safe by not allowing your dog to swim or be in the water at all. Usually by the time a dog shows symptoms it's already too late, which can occur within hours of ingestion. Symptoms can be vomiting, diarrhea, more severely tremors, weakness, collapse, seizures, and others. Prompt treatment is essential if your dog starts showing signs of toxicity.
