Sweet Sailor is healing well! Her stitches came out and she’s getting better at walking again, but we need to get her back to the vet for her 4 week ‘follow up’ x-rays; to review progress on her pelvic fractures.
To ensure everything’s still healing appropriately. This will cost $200, and we still owe $344 on her last bill!

PS: she is LOVING the bed that was donated (thank you Catherine!).

**Warning: Graphic**
A wonderful pet-parent found herself in a difficult spot after her beloved cat was attacked by a stray dog.
The worst of his injuries appear to be a Degloved front leg. This will require amputation to save his life.

In uncertain times and circumstances, we could all use support.
So now we ask the community for support with making sure this kitty gets to spend his remaining 8-Lives with his family!
Stay Tuned for more information!

Sailor (Comm-DAS) Update!
Last Week Sailor had surgery to amputate her mutilated tail.
-Original *graphic* photos in comments.
-She went to an ER the day she was pulled to make sure she was stable and medicated.
-Original Vet's biggest concerns were Nerve damage to her GI tract, common in major pelvic crush injuries. This can cause severe constipation, megacolon, etc from the inability to eliminate f***s.
However, 1/26, Sailor showed us she's in full control; eliminating normally and was ready to heal!
--She has multiple pelvic fractures, which her team of vets recommend cage rest for >8weeks, with updated xrays every 4 weeks to determine progress.
-Thank you to everyone who has helped support Sailor getting the help she needs! We've had $361 donated towards her medical bills of $716.78.
-This leaves her needing an additional $355 to cover her Vet bill and we are estimating an additional >$200 charge for her progress X-rays.

Meet Sailor!
**Graphic content Warning**
Someone loved this sweet girl, someone spayed and chipped her. However she found herself on the side of the road in Dallas with several pelvic fractures and a partially amputated tail. Bone is exposed.
Worse is these injuries are at least several days old.
Despite this, she’s eating and making attempts to stand and move around. She has hope!
She is currently at the vet and we will need the communities help to get her patched up! Estimates for surgery and all will be posted once available.

Mavrick's Start! Late posting, but this little spicy kitten has been through a LOT. First living on the street as a feral kitten, somehow ending up on the side of the highway, to surviving panleukopenia. This guy has been through so much in 2024, but we know 2025 has better things for him because he is officially Adopted!!

Foster/ Adoption Group needed!
This is Buddy, a fearful stray in hopkins county.
He was dumped with 2 other G.Pyrenees earlier in 2024 and has evaded all attempts to use a trap/Darts/d9ugs/etc.
He is incredibly fearful and untrusting of all people, but we've gotten him to eat out of hands as trust is built (with Rotisserie chicken!). Even a finger twitch while you feed him causes him to bolt, but we are determined to support BlackJack 110 in getting this guy off the street and into a home.

Sassy (The unwell kitty from our Cumby initiative) Ended up testing positive for FELV.
After some outreach and giving Sassy a chance to get better in a home environment, she has been transferred to Austin Pets Alive Felv program! Thank you to All donors and volunteers who made this possible!

Almost 2 weeks ago we scooped this cat family off the streets in southeast FTW and partnered with Maricats Rescue to get them to safety!
They were found outside covered in parasites and with calicivirus; being outside was also especially dangerous because not only are brighter colored cats easier for predators to pick off, but half the family is DEAF.
This family is almost ready for pre-adoption ( www.maricats.com ), but we could use a foster for Mama Calypso, and funds for their continued vet care!
