Wags & Wiggles Rescue
We do not have a facility and rely on donations and people opening their hearts and homes to foster a dog.

We want to be transparent with our supporters about the reality of rescue work. When volunteers trap stray dogs in the community, rescues are responsible for paying for all veterinary care, vaccines, testing, and spay/neuter costs before those dogs can leave the shelter to enter our program — and those costs are often MORE than the public adoption fee through the shelter.
These two invoices are for just FOUR dogs that volunteers caught, totaling nearly $1,000 before ongoing care even begins. This is not a complaint toward our local shelter — open-intake shelters are overwhelmed too. We simply want the community to better understand the financial side of rescue work. NOTHING is free!
The BEST way to help us avoid these dogs entering the shelter system is fostering. If we have foster homes immediately available, we can sometimes keep dogs out of the shelter environment altogether. Then we can use our other resources such as donated grooms, discounted vaccines and surgeries which helps cut cost.
