Founded in 2002, Fort Collins Reads, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, has worked to connect neighbors through literature and speaking engagements with some of the nation’s most recognized authors. It might help promote understanding, diversity, and tolerance by breaking barriers between people and cultures. In the lead up to our November author event with , we want to highlight Palestinian authors. Isabella Hammad is an award-winning British-Palestinian author who has written two novels, “The Parisian” and “Enter Ghost”. She has won multiple prizes, including the Plimpton Prize for Fiction, the O. Henry Prize, the Palestine Book Award, and the Aspen Words Literary Prize. She was also named as one of the National Book Foundation’s 5 under 35 honorees.

Her novels explore cultural identity, diaspora, displacement, and the connections found through family and shared resistance.
