That is a term that anyone who owns any property or has any assets or investments needs to learn a whole bunch about !!! The Harris Walz ticket plan to tax , up to 44% , unrealized capital gains regardless of how much you earn annually . Say you purchased a home for 200 thousand dollars and it has gone up to 350 thousand dollars . Even though you don’t have that 150 thousand dollars in hand , it is only an appraised value , they plan to tax it as if you earned it . This would be in addition to local property taxes . Say you bought some stocks for $10 a share and it increases in value to $15 a share , even though the increase is only on paper they will tax the increase as if you earned it . Under their plan anything you own that increases in value , you will be taxed on that increase as if it was money you had in hand . If you can’t come up with the money they will seize that asset . This might all sound crazy but it is something we all should educate ourselves on ....(copied & pasted)
