✨It’s not “just pregnancy pain✨
During pregnancy:
• The hormone relaxin loosens pelvic ligaments
• Your center of gravity shifts forward
• Your glute muscles work overtime to stabilize the pelvis
This overloads the tendons on the outside of the hip.😫
Then when you sleep on your side, your body weight compresses those irritated tissues, which is why the pain is often worse at night.😴💤
What you’re feeling is usually irritation of the glute med/min tendons near the greater trochanter.
Common symptoms:
• Outside hip pain when walking
• Pain lying on your side
• Pain rolling in bed
This is extremely common in mid to late pregnancy.🤰🏼
