One small detail on a current project. I’m looking forward to posting this project in its entirety, But the details are what make any project. Matched existing Bruce Red oak hardwood, but it wouldn’t be proper if we didn’t add some sort of detail.
Traditional picture frame with a parallel inset for the dining room.
Historically, a picture frame floor install was meant to accent a rug. Rugs were for the wealthy.
Rugs are still cool, but not as cool as the wood install.

A little windy and wet over the weekend, but the new shop space is coming along nicely.
No ladders or humans were injured

Awaiting some custom made Rookwood tile, a few odds and ends, and we are fabricating some custom newel posts and railings, but they will be enjoying their limited thanksgiving in their new space.
This has been a fun project for a couple of amazing people.
I have to give Becca Barton at The Requarth Co. - Supply One Kitchen Showroom. some major props for the design on this one. We have a zero clearance b-vent for the furnace and water heater hiding perfectly behind one of the pantry cabinets, that was buried inside a closet we removed. She executed it flawlessly. The ceiling heights aren’t exactly standard, and the original kitchen had drop soffits everywhere, with fluctuating heights depending on where you measured. Full overlay cabinets to the ceiling present some definite challenges, and she pulled the design off perfectly.
It features double Bosch ovens, a wolf cooktop, Faber range hood with a makeup air damper controlled by cfm exhaust flow. When 400 cfm or greater is achieved, the damper opens to introduce fresh air, eliminating backdraft of carbon dioxide through and furnace or water heating vents. It has a stoneware farmhouse sink, and a sink at a wet bar location.
Yeah..... I’m a bit long winded... but we’re pretty passionate about this stuff.
