Day 1 of our annual Research Symposium is in the books! 🤝 Our fourth annual symposium highlights the important intersection of research and education, and how we work together to drive meaningful change.

Education for students who will become future scientists and researchers, for firefighters using evidence-based strategies and tactics to protect themselves and those they serve, and for friends and family seeking to protect their loved ones from safety risks.

Applications are now open for our Sustainable Communities Grants, offered in our home community of , IL, in partnership with our colleagues at UL Standards & Engagement, and ’s Office of Neighborhood and Community Relations.

This program supports community‑driven projects that advance environmental stewardship, improve resource efficiency, and strengthen local sustainability efforts. Two grants of $5,000 each will support eligible projects aligned with the goals of the program.

Last year, the program awarded funding to , to expand access to free, locally grown produce through neighborhood farm stands and , to launch a youth-led initiative focused on litter reduction and environmental awareness.
